Uganda eye South Sudan scalp in CECAFA Cup

Uganda will lock horns with South Sudan in the 2017 CECAFA Cup Group B match at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kenya on Friday.

Kick-off is at 14h00 CAT.

The Cranes were held to a goalless draw by Burundi in their first Group B match which was played at the Bukhungu Stadium on Monday.

The draw left Uganda placed third on the league standings with one point. They are two points behind group leaders Ethiopia.

The Cranes are the defending champions having won the previous tournament in 2015.

Meanwhile, South Sudan suffered a 3-0 defeat to Ethiopia in their first Group B match which was played at the Bukhungu Stadium on Tuesday.

As a result, Bright Stars are placed fourth on the league standings without a single point.

South Sudan are making their fourth appearance in the CECAFA Cup and they have never won the competition.
