Mozambique will be looking to bounce back in the U-20 Cosafa Cup when they take on South Africa in their second Group B match on Saturday.
The teams will clash at the Nkana Stadium, with kick-off set for 14h30 CAT.
The young Mambas suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at the hands of Egypt in their tournament opener on Wednesday, with Hussein Abdelkader scoring the decisive goal.
South Africa, meanwhile, defeat Mauritius 2-0 on Thursday to move to the top of the group standings, ahead of Egypt on goal difference.
Lyle Foster scored both goals for Amajita, who are looking to go one step further in this year’s Cosafa U-20 tournament compared to their runners-up finish in 2016.
With only the group winners guaranteed of a place in the semifinal and Egypt likely to defeat Mauritius in Saturday’s early game, the pressure will be on South Africa to pick up all three points.
Mozambique, though, won’t be an easy opponent and the Mambas will know that a surprise win over their SA counterparts will bring them right back into contention for the knockout rounds.
