Egypt have claimed a second successive win at the 2017 U-20 Cosafa Cup after defeating Mauritius 2-0 in the early game on Saturday at the Nkana Stadium.
The guest side from North Africa claimed another three-pointer in Group B thanks to a brace from Abdelrahiman Elrayash, who hit the back of the net in the 17th and 88th minutes.
Mauritius, who have been eliminated from semifinal contention after suffering a second loss, even ended the game a man short after midfielder Jean Sarah received a second bookable offence in injury time.
The young Pharaohs top Group B on six points, but South Africa could draw level with them if they win against Mozambique in the second of two Cosafa matches being played on Saturday.
Egypt and South Africa are set to meet in a potential group decider on Monday, while Mauritius will wrap up their campaign against the young Mambas on the same day.
