Burundi are chasing a semifinal as they clash against South Sudan in the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge on Monday.
The Group A decider sees the Les Hirondelles looking for a win for them to have seven points on the log table.
Although they drew their opening match against the Cranes of Uganda, they bounced back to thump Ethiopia 4-1 in their second match.
Sitting at number two in the group with four points, the Burundians will be chasing the top spot in the group and set up a semifinal clash against Zanzibar.
Looking at the Bright Stars, they reached the quarterfinals in 2015, but are already out of the the regional tournament.
They have failed to register a single win, they lost 3-0 Ethiopia and 5-1 to the defending champions Uganda.
Having conceded eight goals in two matches, they have no points next to their name and they sit at the bottom of the standings.
However, they have to fight for redemption and their pride heading to this clash on Monday afternoon.
The two countries have played once and Burundi won the encounter, they will want to retain their dominance over the Bright Stars.
The Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega is set to stage the deciding match will kick-off at 14:00 in Kenya.
