Mozambique defeated Mauritius 2-0 in their U-20 Cosafa Cup group stage match on Monday at Arthur Davies Stadium.
The match was a dead-rubber in Group B, with both sides having been eliminated after back-to-back defeats to Egypt and South Africa earlier in the tournament.
The young Mambas struck in the 20th and 51st minutes of the match to at least end their participation on a high note, as they came home in third place behind SA and the Pharaohs.
Mauritius, meanwhile, take home the wooden spoon after suffering a hat-trick of defeats.
The U-20 Cosafa Cup will wrap up its first round with the final Group C matches on Tuesday, as Lesotho take on Angola and Namibia battle Zimbabwe.
