South Africa and Egypt will meet for the second time in the space of three days when they face off in the semifinals of the 2017 U-20 Cosafa Cup.
The match is set for the Nkana Stadium on Thursday afternoon, kick-off at 13h00 CAT.
South Africa must have thought they had put Egypt out of the tournament when they defeated the North Africans 2-1 in a Group B decider on Monday.
The young Pharaohs led through Mohamed Karem, but Amajita claimed victory thanks to strikes from Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Lovoyo Mkatshana to top the pool and advance into the final four.
However, Egypt have snuck into the semis after they were the best runners-up: their haul of six points bettered Malawi and Zimbabwe, who finished second in Groups A & C respectively, both with five points.
The winners of this match will face either Lesotho (Group C winners) or Uganda (Group A winners) in Saturday’s final at Nkana Stadium.
