Kenya will be hoping to book a spot in the final of the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge when they meet Burundi in the semifinals on Thursday.
The Harambee Stars started the tournament on a high, but faltered in their Group A matches and will now want to be clinical this time around.
A 2-0 win over Rwanda raised hopes from the fans, but the hosts would draw twice against Libya and Zanzibar, before their 1-0 win over Tanzania in the last group match.
They finished their group with eight points from four games as winners and will want to claim their third win in the competition.
Coach Paul Put will now work on their finishing and ensure his men reach the final of the tournament and possibly lift the trophy on home soil.
"It will be another tough match and we have to be careful for the counter because they are very dangerous,” said Put.
“The players have to believe in themselves because in all the three games we have played, we have been the better team.
"We will definitely be under pressure because it is a must-win game.”
Looking at the Swallows, they have finished Group B with five points from three matches and will want to keep their momentum going.
They beat Ethiopia 4-1 and drew twice against Uganda and South Sudan, but to reach the final of the regional tournament comes as a huge boost.
Burundi have reached the semis for the first time in their history and will hope to lift their maiden trophy.
However, facing the hosts, who will want to dethrone the Cranes as champions, will not be easy as Kenya will count on their home support.
The first semifinal encounter will be staged at Moi Stadium, in Kisumu, on Thursday at 15:00.
