Despite experiencing goal drought in the English Premier League, Senegal and Liverpool striker Sadio Mane’s goal has been voted as the best in the UEFA Champions League.
The goal against Russia’s Spartak Moscow grabbed the Goal of the Week prize for matchday six, seeing off competition from Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-Min.
Mane’s cracking volley has been named UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week and is presented by sponsor, Nissan.

The Liverpool man’s acrobatic strike came during his side’s 7-0 destruction of Spartak on yet another famous European night at Anfield Stadium.
Beating an unstoppable dipping effort from Ronaldo in their 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund, the ‘Smiling Assassin’ must be proud of himself.
In addition, Juventus star Federico Bernardeschi also missed out, earning a nod for his impressive low drive in the Italians’ 2-0 win at Olympiakos.
This accolade will hopefully inspire the Lions of Teranga international to find more goals for the Reds in the EPL.
On Sunday, manager Jurgen Klopp will hope to see his attacker finding the back of the net or providing assists for his teammates away to Bournemouth on Sunday.
