Baroka FC defeated SuperSport United 3-1 in an Absa Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday afternoon.
The win took Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphlahlele to third spot on the league standings, while Matsatsantsa remain 11th on the table.
Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele did most of the defending in the early stages of the game as Matsatsantsa applied some pressure on the hosts' backline.
Virgil Vries, the Baroka goalkeeper, was tested by SuperSport from range. The Namibia international dealt well with the visitors' long range efforts.
The hosts had a rare chance in the 19th minute when Lucky Nguzana volleyed the ball over the crossbar from inside the SuperSport box.
However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker did open the scoring when he netted from close range to make it 1-0 to Baroka in the 31st
SuperSport then pressed Baroka as they looked to restore parity before the half-time break, but Thuso Phala and Bradley Groble failed to convert their chances.
The score was 1-0 to Baroka at half-time following a lively first-half which had few chances.
Matsatsantsa dominated the opening exchanges of the second-half and they managed to level matters in the 53rd minute.
Nigeria international Azubuike Egwuekwe scored with a powerful header at the far post to make it 1-1 as SuperSport's pressure paid off.
Baroka never lost hope as they attacked in numbers and they managed to restore their lead in the 72nd minute.
Second-half substitute Richard Matloga played a good free-kick in the SuperSport box and Letladi Madubanya headed home to make it 2-1 to Baroka.
Baroka emerged 3-1 winners over SuperSport when Talent Chawapiwa set-up Mduduzi Mdantsane, who beat Pieterse in stoppage time.
