Besiktas vice president Ahmed Nur Cebi has confirmed that his club is interested in signing Senegalese striker Demba Ba.
The Turkish champions appear likely to lose striker Cenk Tosun in the January transfer window and Ba has been touted as a possible replacement.
The 32-year-old former Teranga Lions hit-man currently plays his club football with Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League.
Turkish media house Aksam have reported on comments made by Cebi when quizzed about Tosun, and the possibility bringing in Ba: “Yes, we are considering Demba Ba as an alternative.
"It’s also true that we are receiving offers for Cenk Tosun, which is pleasing because it shows we are on the right track.
“For now, we don’t want him to leave but as you know things can change very quickly in football.
"If we decide to sell him then we have to look at the alternatives and I can confirm Demba Ba is in our list.”
