Victor Moses will be eager to prove a point when Chelsea take on Bournemouth in a Carabao Cup clash this evening.

The 27-year-old, who played an integral part in helping the Blues to English Premier League glory earlier this year, was left out of the three-man shortlist for the 2017 CAF African Footballer of the Year accolade.

Moses racked up 34 appearances - most notable starring in a wingback role - as Antonio Conte inspired the club to league triumph.

Injury hampered his start to the current campaign, but Moses proved on his return why he is currently considered as one of the best players in world football from the African continent.

The attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were included in the final three, with Moses the only league champion among the lot last season.

Having played a key part in Chelsea's revival, Moses will be felt hard done as he now sets his sights on downing the Cherries at Stamford Bridge. Victory for the Blues on Wednesday night will book their place in the semifinals of the cup competition.
