Southampton’s Gabonese midfielder Mario Lemina has promised that he will soon be in top form, having full recovered from injury.
The Panthers player, who was a marquee signing from Italian champions Juventus, made a bright start to life at the Saints.
However, an ankle injury suffered in October has stalled his progress with the Premier League club, and the 24-year-old has had to settle for a role as a substitute in most of the Saints’ recent matches.
Yet having now fully recovered from his injury, Lemina expects to once again feature strongly for Mauricio Pellegrino’s team - especially in the busy Christmas period.
Lemina said: "Coming back from that injury I had to start from fresh again, build up my confidence from nothing, while I was watching my teammates play when I wanted to help them.
"It's just building up that confidence again now. The injury was a set-back because I was adapting to life in England, but I'm starting to build up confidence in it now.
"I don't think it will be long before I'm back to 100 percent. It took a long time to get over, but now things are getting better and I'm working hard – I'm gaining confidence all the time while I'm training and playing."
The West African will hope to start Southampton’s Premier League clash at home to Huddersfield Town, which kicks off at 17h00 CAT this evening.
