Loïc Féry, the president of French Ligue 2 club Lorient, has revealed that they will sell or loan Ghana striker Majeed Waris if they receive an agreeable offer in the January transfer window.
English Premier League sides West Ham United and Burnley have reportedly come close to landing the 26-year-old forward in the recent past.
Lorient were asking for a transfer fee in the region of €10m in the European summer but that figure should be considerably lower next month.
Waris has struggled to impress in the first half of the 2017/18 season, registering just one goal and one assist from six Ligue 2 appearances.
Speaking to Ouest-France, Féry said: “His situation is different. We aren’t against a departure, but it has to be a good deal for the club. We won’t just accept anything.
“A loan? It depends in what conditions, and if it can help us strengthen the squad.”
