Cameroon international defender Ambroise Oyongo has joined French Ligue 1 club Montpellier, according to BBC Sport.
The 26-year-old, who previously played for Coton Sport and New York Red Bulls, will see out his contract at Major Soccer League (MLS) club Montreal Impact before officially joining Montpellier in the New Year.
He has agreed a four-year-deal with the 2012 French champions.
Onyongo ruptured a tendon in June, but is set to make a return to full fitness in January as he sets out to make an immediate impact at what is his first European club.
"It's done, it's signed," club president Laurent Nicollin told 'Midi Libre,'
"He's an endearing boy, who has not played since June and is only making a big return from his injury.
"I hope it's going to be a nice surprise, he's here to help us from this season, but most importantly to be starting from the next."
