Latest news reports suggest that English Premier League outfit Southampton could be purchasing Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini from French Ligue 1 side Rennes in the January transfer window.
According to French news outlet Mercato365, the Saints are pondering a move for the 22-year-old as they aim to replace Virgil van Dijk who secured a £75 million move to Liverpool.

Bensebaini is by trade a centre-back, but is also capable of playing on the left-hand side of defence.
He is an established Algerian international and has made 11 starts in Ligue 1 so far this season for Rennes.
Bensebaini is currently contracted to Rennes until the summer of 2020.
