Ajax Cape Town have signed Fagrie Lakay on loan from SuperSport United for the remainder of the 2017-18 Absa Premiership season, the club announced on Friday morning.

The 20-year-old returns to the Mother City having moved from Santos to Matsatsantsa three years ago.

Injury, though, has hampered his progress in the South African capital, with a return home to hopefully resurrect his career.

Aged 17 years, 5 months and 30 days – Lakay became the youngest ever Bafana Bafana international when he took to the field against the Ivory Coast in November 2014.

Lakay is the Urban Warriors fourth signing of the current transfer window; following the acquisition of Muzi Thabotha, Tendai Ndoro and Gerald Takwara.
