Tamsanqa Teyise of Free State Stars celebrates a goal with teammates

Free State Stars beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 in an Absa Premiership match at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday night.
As a result, Ea Lla Koto move to second spot on the league table, while the Clever Boys remain 16th on the standings.
Ea Lla Koto were happy to sit back and launch counter attacks against the Clever Boys, who doing most of the attacking.
Daylon Claasen had two chances to break the deadlock for Wits, but he was denied by Stars goalkeeper Badre Ali Sangare on both occassions.
The home side were left to rue those two chances as the visitors broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark.
Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet was beaten by Thamsanqa Teyise's volley with the defender making it 1-0 to Stars.
Ea Lla Koto then contained the Clever Boys until the match referee blew the half-time whistle.
Stars were leading 1-0 at the interval.
Buhle Mkhwanazi, the Wits defender, nearly scored an own-goal a few minutes after the restart.
However, South Africa international Keet was alert and he made a decent save to keep the hosts in the game.
The Stars defence which was marshalled by former SuperSport United defender Teyise looked solid.
Sangare made a good save to deny Wits substitute Vincent Pule in the latter stages of the match.
Ultimately, Stars ran out 1-0 winners over Wits after containing the defending league champions in the closing stages.
