Bournemouth forward Benik Afobe has been linked with a move to English Premier League rivals Watford in the current transfer window.

Afobe, 24, has seen little game time in the league during the course of the season with 11 of his 16 appearances coming off the bench.

Despite reports linking Afobe with a switch to the Hornets, Watford head coach Marco Silva has denied rumours linking the Democratic Republic of Congo forward with a move to the club.

“It is not true but it is important that we don’t talk about each player who is in the newspaper because you won’t do anything else,” Silva was quoted as saying by the Watford Observer.

“Nothing has happened about Afobe, but of course we need and want to bring players in for the team to improve.”

Afobe played 71 minutes for the Cherries as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Wigan in an FA Cup clash on Saturday.
