Mochudi Centre Chiefs communications manager Clifford Mogomotsi says the club was never interested in South African midfielder Masibusane Zongo.
The attacking midfielder was recently linked with a possible move to the Botswana Premier League (BPL) during the current Transfer Window.
Mogomotsi was quoted by South African publication, KickOff, confirming Chiefs’ interest in Zongo.
However, the Chiefs official has since disclosed that the reports were not true when speaking to local media.
“Rumours are always there but those reports are not true,” Mogomotsi said.
“I did talk to them and I told them they have a wrong name for us, so they just went ahead with that but it is not true.
“We open on Friday and if there is need for additions will see then because that is when the committee will also meet.”
South African National First Division (NFD) club Royal Eagles announced on Monday that they had re-signed Zongo.
