Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace managers Chris Hughton and Roy Hodgson have both commented on Everton striker Oumar Niasse.
The Senegalese forward has been strongly linked with a move to either Brighton or Palace in this January transfer window.
Everton consider the attacker to be surplus to requirements following their purchase of Turkish striker Cenk Tosun.
Both the Seagulls and the Eagles are actively looking to bolster their attacking options and the 27-year-old Niasse could fit the bill.
Hodgson was asked about Niasse and had this to say in reply: "I am not prepared to talk about names.
“We have various options. We have been talking about strengthening the squad since two or three weeks into my tenure.
“And we are hoping to fulfil our wishes in this window, which is now vitally important with our injury situation."
Meanwhile, Brighton boss Hughton said: "We know of him [Niasse] of course. But that is just another name that is being mentioned."
