There’s no doubt that Idrissa Gueye is one of the most important players at English Premier League (EPL) outfit Everton FC.
In fact the hard-working player has established himself as one of the top central defensive midfielders in EPL which is arguably the best league in the world.
Gueye limped off the pitch against Chelsea in an away league game which ended in a goalless draw almost three weeks ago.
Sam Allardyce, the Everton manager, confirmed that the Senegal international had suffered a hamstring injury.
"The disappointing thing about an injury is [Gueye] misses 4 games even if he is back in 2 weeks," said Allardyce.
"Anyone getting injured now misses a massive amount of games. In the next 13 days we're going to play 4 matches - if anyone gets injured they miss all of them."
However, Gueye managed to play in Everton’s next league game which was against AFC Bournemouth and he scored in the 57 minute as his side suffered a 2-1 away defeat.
The anchorman was substituted in the 71st minute with the two sides locked at 1-1, but Bournemouth grabbed a late winning goal.
Gueye has since missed Everton’s league match against Manchester United and an FA Cup game against Liverpool FC.
The Toffees lost both games as they missed Gueye, who is usually the shield in front of the team’s defence.
They will be hoping that Gueye recovers from his hamstring injury in time for their next league game which is against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
