Baroka FC will look to claim the scalp of AmaZulu in the Absa Premiership when the teams meet at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 14 January 2018, kick-off at 15h30.
Baroka opened the New Year with a 3-1 loss away to Orlando Pirates on January 6. It was the Limpopo side’s third defeat from their last four league matches, having also suffered 0-4 and 0-3 scorelines in December against Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United respectively.

Bakgaga have claimed just 10 points from seven home matches this season, though they will look to their 3-1 win over SuperSport United just before the festive break for inspiration as they prepare to welcome their latest visitors.

AmaZulu’s start to 2018 was a poor one, as they succumbed 0-2 at home to Chippa United on January 7. The Durban side has now gone six league matches without a win, claiming just four points from a possible 18 in the sequence.

Usuthu have accumulated just five points from six away matches this season. Their only win on the road came back in October when they shocked Mamelodi Sundowns in Tshwane, while their last away game ended in a 1-0 loss at Cape Town City last month.

In head-to-head stats, Baroka and AmaZulu have met in just one previous top flight match. That encounter took place earlier this season in Durban, with the teams playing to a 1-1 draw with goals from Rhulani Manzini and Gift Motupa.

Baroka’s line-up from their 3-1 loss to Pirates on January 6: Vries, Shaku, Mahashe, Moeti (Matloga 59’), Masenamela, Mothupa (Kgoetyane 52’), Nguzana, Kgaswane, Madubanya, Mdantsane (Chawapiwa 33’), Ngalande.

AmaZulu’s line-up from their 2-0 loss to Chippa on January 7: Murambadoro, Sikhakhane, Mabiliso, Gumede M, Nyongo, Ncube, Morton (Khenyeza 71'), Dlamini S (Ramphele 66'), Ncobeni, Karuru, Manzini (Cele 55').
