Guinea-Bissau’s Baldé set for trials at Free State Stars

Guinea-Bissau international Amido Baldé will reportedly undergo trials at South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Free State Stars.

The 26-year-old striker was on the books of Portuguese sides Tondela and Maritimo last season and he’s now clubless.

Stars’ Ghanaian striker Mohammed Anas has been linked with a possible move to PSL side AmaZulu FC and Ea Lla Koto could be looking for his replacement.
“Former Glasgow Celtic and journeyman striker Amido Balde of Guinea-Bissau will arrive this week at Free State Stars for a trial‚ TimesLIVE is informed.

“The towering‚ 1‚93-metre centre-forward last played for Tondela in Portugal’s Premiera Liga on loan from CS Maritimo.
“Balde has an arm-length of clubs he has been on the books of or been loaned to at a still tender age of 26‚ including Sporting Lisbon‚ Cercle Brugge‚ Vitoria Guimaraes‚ Celtic‚ Waasland-Beveren‚ Hapoel Tel Aviv‚ Metz and Benfica Luanda,” a statement read on Times Live.

His last game for Guinea-Bissau was against Liberia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on the 13th of October 2015.

Ha has scored once in four appearances for Guinea-Bissau.
