The Gabon international has explained why he doesn’t not regret joining English Premier League (EPL) outfit Southampton.

Lemina surprisingly joined the Saints from one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Juventus of Italy, last August

The central midfielder began the season well at Southampton, but he lost his place in the starting line-up after recovering from an injury which had kept him out for almost a month.

However, Lemina still believes it was the right decision to come to St Mary’s from Italy.

“It wasn’t a difficult decision at all. It was the right decision. It was something I needed – I wanted to play,” Lemina told the Daily Echo.

“I’m in this game to play football – I’m not here to watch it. Coming here to Southampton for the game time really attracted me.”

“I liked the project here at Southampton, so it was the right moment and right decision.”

The 24-year-old has played in 16 league matches for the Saints this season plus one appearance in the FA Cup.

He was introduced in the 63rd minute as Southampton drew 2-2 with Watford FC on Saturday.
