The Cameroon international has made his return from an injury ahead of the 2018 Chinese Super League season.

Bassogog has been out nursing a knee injury which he sustained before Cameroon’s final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier last November.

The match between Cameroon and Zambia ended in a 2-2 draw in Ndola with both teams having already failed to qualify for the finals.

Bassogog was able to focus on recovering from his injury during the Chinese Super League off-season.

He had helped his club, Henan Jianye survive relegation from the top flight league. The team finished a place above the relegation zone.

The 22-year-old forward scored 10 goals in 24 appearances in his debut season in the Chinese Super League.

He featured for Jianye as they suffered a 5-0 defeat to German outfit Chemnitzer FC in an international club friendly match on Saturday.

Prior to that Jianye had drawn 1-1 with Spanish side Llagos Costa Brava in another international club friendly game.
