Morocco coach Jamal Sellami says his team deserved both their victory over Guinea yesterday evening, and their subsequent qualification to the quarterfinals of the 2018 African Nations Championship.
Ayoub El Kaabi scored all three goals to see the Atlas Lions defeat Guinea 3-1 in Casablanca on Wednesday and become the first team to secure a place in the quarterfinals.
"I congratulate my players for the level they showed against Guinea,” said Sellami in a post-match press conference.
“We pressed very high to prevent this good team from Guinea to play.
“We deserve our victory and our qualification for the quarterfinals.
“Guinea has been well established and well organised. We exploited the mistakes of the opposing team to win.”
Morocco will wrap up their Group A campaign with a match against Sudan - who have also qualified for the last eight with back-to-back wins - in Casablanca on Sunday evening.
