Chelsea join race for Jean-Michael Seri

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Nice’s Ivorian midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.

The Sun reports that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants further midfield reinforcements in this January transfer window, despite having already brought in Ross Barkley from Everton.

The Italian has apparently not been won over by Timoue Bakayoko, who has been unable to reproduce the same form he showed at Monaco.

Conte is now prepared to test Nice’s resolve to hold onto their 26-year-old Elephants star, who very nearly made a move to Barcelona at the beginning of the season.

However, Chelsea will face stiff competition in their desire to sign Seri, as he is also on the radar of Premier League rivals Manchester City and Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain.
