The Guinea Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) have confirmed the dismissal of Kanfory Mohamed 'Lappe' Bangoura following the country's exit from the on-going 2018 African Nations Champions (Chan) tournament.
Bangoura, who took over the reins in July 2016, was given the sack moments after the country's 3-1 defeat to hosts Morocco on Wednesday evening.
Guinea suffered a 2-1 loss to Sudan in their Group A opener before going down to the Atlas Lions - which resulted in Bangoura's axing.
Assistant coach, Ibrahima Sory Toure, will take charge of the country's final Group A fixture against Mauritania on Sunday in Marrakech. The clash is a dead-rubber showdown with both teams already eliminated from the continental competition.
Guinea were tipped among the favourites for the title following the West African's fourth place finish in Rwanda two years ago.
