Despite playing a massive role in handing Manchester City their first loss in the current English Premier League term, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane says he wants to improve.

The Senegalese international was on target for the Reds as they downed the Sky Blues at Anfield last weekend.

A 4-3 scoreline saw Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Fimino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finding the back of the net for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, the ’Smiling Assassin’ says he becomes frustrated when things are not going well for him, insisting he will work harder.

“I need to be consistent and push myself. That’s why I sometimes get frustrated when things don’t work out for me,” said the Reds’ £30million striker.

“I need to work harder than I have previously done.

“I am fine — you can ask my team-mates. But I demand a lot from myself so, when I am not scoring or performing at a certain level, I give myself pressure.

“I will have to keep working harder and harder to get better.”

Sitting at number three in the EPL log table with 47 points, Liverpool will visit Swansea City on Monday in their next league game.
