Congo will be aiming for a second win in the 2018 CAF African Nations Championship tournament when they meet Burkina Faso on Saturday.

The Red Devils are fresh from a 1-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in their Group D opener on Monday.

With a win next to their name and with three points, they will want to consolidate their top spot in the group.

A second victory will see them with six points and booking a spot in the knockout stages of the continental showpiece.

“It’s our first game in the competition. The coach gave us instructions before the match and even at half-time, and we respected them,” said prestige Mboungou.

“We are happy for this result but now we have to think of the next match, which will be another difficult test against Burkina Faso.”

Looking at the Burkinabe, they opened their group assignment with a dull 0-0 draw against the Palancas Negras of Angola on Monday.

The Stallions are under immense pressure to claim a win and put pressure on the log leaders.

With one point next to their name from a single match at number three so far, they will be facing an uphill battle against a confident Congolese outfit.

This will be the ninth encounter between the two sides. The Burkinabe have two wins, three losses and as many draws.

Stade Adrar in Agadir will be the venue on Saturday at 19:30 (CAT).
