Kaizer Chiefs beat Baroka FC 2-1 in an Absa Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

As a result, Amakhosi move to third place on the league standings, while Bakgaga remain seventh on the table.

The home side looked dangerous every time they launched an attack in the opening stages of the game.

A quick counter attack in the 10th minute saw Robin Ngalande force Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune into a save.

Talent Chawapiwa, the Zimbabwe international, was causing a lot of problems for the Chiefs defence with his pace and skill.

The attacker hit the upright and Lucky Ngalande scored from the rebound to make it 1-0 to Baroka on the half-hour mark.

Baroka then stood firm at the back and they were leading 1-0 at the interval.

Chiefs piled pressure on Bakgaga after the restart and they equalized through Ryan Moon, who scored with aheader to make it 1-1.

But Amakhosi were reduced to 10 men in the 72nd minute when Joseph Molangoane was sent off for elbowing Khutso Mohwatseleng.

Chiefs never lost hope as they snatched a late winning goal when he debutant Leonardo Castro scored to seal the visitors' 2-1 win.
