Sudan and Morocco draw 0-0 in their final 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Group A game at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca on Sunday.

Morocco finished top of Group A with a better goal difference, while runners-up Sudan also progressed into the quarter-finals.

Sudan were happy to sit back and launch quick counter attacks in the first-half with Morocco doing most of the attacking.

However, Sudan goalkeeper Akram Salim had to pull off crucial saves to deny Walid El Karti, Ahmed Hammoudan and Nayef Aguerd.

Morocco, who are the tournament hosts, were leading 1-0 at the interval having dominated in the first-half, but they failed to beat Salim.

The tournament hosts should have broken the deadlock in the second-half after they were awarded a penalty, but Achraf Bencharki was denied by Salim from the spot-kick.

Morocco were left to rue that glorious chance as Sudan stood firm at the back until the match referee blew the final whistle with the game ending in a 0-0 draw.
