Polokwane City drew 1-1 with SuperSport United in an Absa Premiership match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday night.
As a result, Matsatsantsa and Rise and Shine remain 11th and 12th respectively on the league standings.
Both teams created clear-cut chances in the opening stages of the game and it should have been 1-1 within the first 20 minutes of the match.
SuperSport goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse produced a fine low save to deny Polokwane striker Rodney Ramagalela from a one-on-one situation 10 minutes into the game.
At the other end, SuperSport winger Aubrey Modiba failed to beat Polokwane shot-stopper George Chigova from a one-on-one situation in the 18th minute.
However, the home side did break the deadlock 12 minutes later when Morgan Gould headed home Dean Furman’s free-kick to make it 1-0 to SuperSport.
It should have been 2-0 to SuperSport in the 40th minute, but Zimbabwe international Chigova pulled off a double save to deny his countryman Kingston Nkhatha.
SuperSport were leading 1-0 at half-time following a lively first half in the capital city of South Africa, Pretoria.
The hosts had a chance to double their lead nine minutes into the second half, but Thuso Phala unleashed a tame shot which was easily saved by Chigova.
Polokwane were then awarded a free-kick in a promising area in the 68th minute and Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali stepped up and unleashed a powerful shot which was blocked by the SuperSport wall.
The visitors did grab a late equalizing goal through Puleng Tlolane scored in stoppage time and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
