Bordeaux are set to challenge Rennes for the signature of West Ham United’s Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho.
The Teranga Lions attacker is pushing to leave the Hammers in this January transfer window, having seen relatively little playing time in the 2017/18 season.
According to Foot Mercato, Bordeaux want to take Sakho on-loan for six months with the option of a €10m permanent deal at the end of the campaign.
Rennes, meanwhile, are offering €12m to buy the player outright in this window.
Bordeaux are regarded as favourites to land Sakho. This is because Sakho is good friends with the son of new Bordeaux coach Gustavo Poyet.
