Manchester United are being linked with a move for OGC Nice’s Ivorian midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.
According to The Sun, manager Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing Seri to Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window or, failing that, at least seal a deal to sign him once the 2017/18 season is complete.
Following the signing of Alexis Sanchez to boost United’s attack, ‘The Special One’ is now turning his attention to central midfield.
The Red Devils already boast Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in that position, but with Marouane Fellaini’s contract set to expire and the imminent retirement of Michael Carrick, there are worries over their strength in depth.
Seri, 26, nearly joined Barcelona at the beginning of the season but has expressed an interest in playing in the Premier League.
United could face stiff competition from Chelsea, who have also expressed an interest in signing the Elephants midfielder.
