As they arrived in Kampala, Uganda coach Sebastien Desabre says they are disappointed following their early exit at the 2018 CAF African Nations Championship tournament.
The new manager admitted his side was disappointed, but said they picked up positives as they look to the future.
Their failure to bag a single win meant the Cranes collected a single point out of a possible nine to finish third in Group B.
“It was very important to leave the competition with a point,” Desabre said.
“Our biggest mistake was the second game against Namibia and it really affected our chances.
“We played a good game but we failed to score from the two or three chances we created. It was important to finish in third place in the group after realizing we were out of contention.
“It is big disappointment and but overall we showed great potential.
“Our objective was to play a good match and finish ahead of Cote d’Ivoire since it was not possible to finish first or second in the group.
"We showed positive thinking against a good Ivorian team, and we were equal to the task."
The French man who is yet to grab his first victory will hope to do so when they face Tanzania in September for the 2019 CAF African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
