Angola head coach Srdan Vasiljevic felt that his side was just too unfortunate against Nigeria on Sunday.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria edged out Angola’s Palancas Negras 2-1 in the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarter-final match in Tangier.

Vladimiro Etson António Félix opened the scoring for Angola, but Nigeria equalized in the closing stages of the game and the Super Eagles went on to secure victory in extra-time.

“Football is sometimes not favourable. We scored and Nigeria equalized in the last minute before winning it in extra time,” Vasiljevic said.

“We thought it was enough to hold on for a win but it wasn't enough and we lost. I hoped to have a good result but this is football for you.

“The tournament provides us with a lot of experience which will help us going forward because this is a tournament that gives great experience to our players.”

Palancas Negras along with their Southern African rivals Zambia and Namibia have been eliminated from the tournament.

West African giants Nigeria will now face East African side Sudan in the semi-final clash in Marrakech on Wednesday.
