Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly close to agreeing a fee for the transfer of Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to Sky Sports, talks are ongoing between the clubs but a deal has yet to be buttoned down.

The Gunners have had a bid of GBP 50m rejected, with Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc adamant that they will only agree to selling the 28-year-old go if their demands are met. It is understood they are holding out for GBP 60m.

One of the complications surrounding the deal is that striker Olivier Giroud may be used as a ‘makeweight’ in the move, though Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared that the Frenchman will not leave until another player is brought in.

"Arsenal have made several attempts so far [to sign Aubameyang] and they have all been rejected," Zorc told Sky in Germany on Saturday.

"Either our demands are fulfilled, then there can be another transfer, or they will not be fulfilled and Aubameyang will play in Dortmund until the summer."

Aubameyang was booed by Dortmund fans in their 2-2 draw at home to Freiburg this past weekend.
