AfricanFootball.com has established that Zambia and Platinum Stars striker Brian Mwila is in Russia for trials.

The Chipolopolo forward completed his switch to the South African Premier Soccer League before the start of the 20117/18 season from Green Buffaloes in August last year.

However, Mwila left the Rustenburg-based side under a cloud of controversy in December for the Christmas break and has not returned since.

Coach Roger De Sa told the media that the 23-year-old has gone without the club’s permission, but sources close to this website reveal the player is in Europe.

Media reports previously suggested that the player was training with Buildcon FC in Zambia, but is now in Russia training with Arsenal Tula.

Mwila could reunite with fellow countryman in midfielder Stopila Sunzu who is currently on the books of Arsenal Tula in the Russian Premier League.

“Brian has disappeared from Buildcon from today on (Monday),” said the source to AfricanFootball.com.

“He is in Russia on trials for a week, but the club is unknown. He has been training at Buildcon in Ndola last week.”
