Former teammate of Mohamed Salah at FC Basel, Alexander Frei has labelled the Egyptian as a ‘Chance Killer’ based on his finishing abilities.

Salah has become one of the most clinical finishers in the English Premier League since joining Liverpool last year from Italian side AS Roma.

The Pharaohs' attacker has netted 25 goals in all competitions from 32 matches for the Reds so far and that makes him the fastest Liverpool player to achieve such a feat in 102 years.

However, back in 2012 when he signed for Basel from Egyptian side El Mokawloon, Salah was a diamond in the rough.

Former Swiss striker Alexander Frei recounted to World Soccer about how raw his former teammate was when he first joined the club.

“When he arrived he was clearly a great talent but was very cavalier,” said Frei.

"There wasn't much in the way of pattern to his play.”
