With calls mounting from the club’s faithful for him to get sacked, SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler says it’s normal for fans to get angry.
The former Cape Town City coach is struggling to bring the Tshwane side back to winning ways following last weekend’s 4-1 loss to Absa Premiership champions, Bidvest Wits.
“It’s only normal for the fans to be angry. I would feel the same way. But they must understand that we feel just as bad if not worse than what they feel,” Tinkler said after the match.
“We’re professional sportsmen, we don’t like losing. I am a coach who doesn’t like losing. I hate losing. But it’s part and parcel of the game.
"I can’t blame them for feeling the way they feel. But like I said, this is a team that has had two long seasons. We are seeing the effects of that.
“We just have to keep pushing because we know we have enough quality to get ourselves out of this position.”
In their quest to return to winning ways, they will face AmaZulu in the league on Wednesday night at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
