Lobi Stars head coach, Solomon Ogbeide felt that Kwara United deserved to beat them in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match on Thursday.

Stephen Alfred scored they only goal of the match in the 10th minute with United securing a 1-0 victory over Stars at the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin.

The tactician added that he would have loved to have Anthony Okpotu, who is currently with the Super Eagles for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.

“Kwara United did very well today. They did well to win,” Ogbeide said on the NPFL website.

“But I would have loved to have my striker Okpotu here because he is a big part of this team.

“But we will focus on the next game (against FC Ifeanyiubah) now,” he continued.

“We will go back and make corrections in areas of the team where we lacked in this game.”

United and Stars are placed 19th and fifth respectively on the league standings.
