Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has called on supporters to rally behind the country’s CAF club competition representatives.
Ghana Premier League winners Aduana Stars will play in Cairo against Libya’s Al Tahadi for the first leg of their Champions League tie, while Ghana Cup winners Asante Kotoko will host Congo’s CARA Brazzaville in the Confederation Cup - both matches will be played late this afternoon.
During an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM 100.7, Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah implored Ghanaians to back the two sides to make the nation proud on the continent.
"I entreat all Ghanaians to rally behind Aduana and Kotoko because they are representing Ghana so they can make us proud," Appiah urged.
"I will ask the playing body to keep their focus, especially Aduana as they are playing away," he added.
Both Asante and Aduana will play their respective return leg matches on the midweek of 20-21 February.
