Baroka FC will look for a return to form in the Absa Premiership when they host Chippa United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 17 February 2018, kick-off at 15h30.

Baroka saw their winless streak in the league extended to three matches when they were beaten 2-0 at Free State Stars on February 3. The Limpopo side has won just two of their last 13 league matches, having won four of their first seven.

Bakgaga have claimed 13 points from nine home matches this season, though their last game as hosts ended in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs.

Chippa played to a fourth successive league draw when they were held 3-3 at home by bottom-of-the-log Platinum Stars on February 4. The Eastern Cape side led the game three times, but still ended up recording their 11th draw in 20 league outings.

The Chilli Boys have claimed just 11 points from nine away matches this season, though their last two games on the road have resulted in a 2-0 win at AmaZulu and 1-1 draw at Maritzburg United.

In head-to-head stats, Baroka and Chippa have met in three league matches since the start of last season. The Chilli Boys completed a league ‘double’ in 2016/17, but Bakgaga claimed a 3-1 win in the Eastern Cape earlier this campaign for their first win in the rivalry.

Baroka’s line-up from their 2-0 loss to Stars on February 3: Masuluke, Motupa, Shaku, Chawapiwa, Mothupa, Mohwatseleng, Banda (Mahashe 63’), Moeti (Macha 46’), Makgaka (Kgaswane 72’), Mdantsane, Madubanya.

Chippa’s line-up from their 3-3 draw with Stars on February 4: Akpeyi, Macheke, Okwuosa, Konqobe, Hachi, Mayambela (Mzwakali 67’), Mabaso, Mdlinzo, Mako, Lentjies (Sali 54’), Machupu (Mbenyane 82’).
