Uganda national team coach Sebastien Desabre believes that most players in the country are technically good, but need to focus on the physical aspect.
The 41-year-old Frenchman was addressing the media at Federation of Uganda Football Associations' house on Wednesday.
It was the coach’s second press conference at the home of football in the country since taking over the national team job in December 2017.
Desabre returned from holiday in France on Sunday and has volunteered to assist local clubs with the physical development of the players.
“I observed at the CHAN 2018 tournament in Morocco that most of our players are good technically but still lacking on the physical aspect of the game,” said Desabre.
“When I took over the job, it was a short notice as we left for the tournament. We had two international friendly matches and played three group matches.
“For the first half, the players were good but struggled as the games progressed. We need special physical training.
“I saw some two players in Onduparaka who did not get a chance to be called for the CHAN team. I will continue to monitor the players in all the clubs.
“I want to improve the relationship and interaction with the clubs towards the development of local football.”
