Following his fine performances for Liverpool, attacker Sadio Mane is set to receive an improved contract.

The Senegalese international is having a spectacular showing in the English Premier League thus far including a Champions League hat-trick against FC Porto.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has been delighted with the winger's recent form and wants to tie him down to a lucrative new deal.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Klopp is desperate to tie the winger down to a new deal as the 25-year-old currently has a contract at Anfield Stadium running until 2021.

Mane's new contract would also see a huge increase on his current wages to establish him as one of Liverpool’s top earners.

Despite the talks of a new deal, the ‘Smiling Assassin’ believes he is nearly back to his best form, and is fully focused on helping Liverpool land some silverware.

“I think [I’m back to my best]. It’s always important – especially for a striker – to score,” said Mane.

“It gives you confidence and I am feeling confident.”

Although the former Southampton star has been overshadowed by Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino this term, he remains an integral part of the side.
