Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Kano Pillars are mourning the death of their captain Chinedu Udoji
The 28-year-old defender-cum-midfielder died on Monday after a car accident according to his club.
Udoji captained Enyimba to win the 2014 Federation Cup and 2015 NPFL titles.
Pillars released the following statement:
A club statement read: “We are deeply touched and saddened by the sudden and tragic death of our player Chinedu Udoji.”
“He passed away on Monday 19th February, 2018 after a car accident on his way back from visiting his former Enyimba FC team-mates in Kano.”
“We pray God to give his family the fortitude to bear his loss. Rest in Peace Captain.”
NPFL giants Enyimba also released the following statement:
“We are distraught at the news of the passing of club legend and former captain, Chinedu Udoji. Our commiserations are with his family at this time,” a statement read.
