Arsenal are keeping tabs on Napoli’s Senegalese centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, with a view to signing the player in the European summer window.
Calciomercato.com reports that the Gunners have been tracking Koulibaly’s progress with the Naples club.
Arsenal are set to recruit defensive reinforcements once the season is complete, having failed to bolster their backline in the January transfer window.
The London club sent scouts to watch Koulibaly in action for Napoli against RB Leipzig in last week’s Europa League last 32, first-leg clash.
The 26-year-old is valued at a conservative €45million but Napoli could demand a higher figure given the €85million Liverpool paid for defender Virgil van Dijk last month.
Arsenal may also face stiff competition for the player’s signature, as Chelsea - in particular manager Antonio Conte - are long-time admirers of Koulibaly and have tried to recruit him in the past.
