Although the Kenyan Football Federation announced their plans to face Comoros in an international friendly, it seems the Islanders are yet to finalise negotiations with Kenyan football authorities.
Media reports indicate that the FKF said the game had been arranged as part of their build-up to their third round of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The encounter was set to be staged on March 23 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the home of Moroccan club AS FAR Rabat.
However, the Comoros Football Association told 269 Comoros Football all the conditions for staging of the match have not been met by the Kenyan FA.
“For two months, we have had contacts with Mali, Burkina Faso, Andoraa and Kenya. We are waiting according to the discussions against whom we will play,” said the FCF Spokesperson.
“As per now we have not reached any agreement for a friendly with any team in March.”
However, Soka25East reports that a source close to Comoros camp has disclosed that the negotiations may not continue because of the pending elections of the new president of the federation.
The Harambee Stars are in Group F which also features Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Ghana.
There were plans to see Kenya meeting Cameroon in a friendly on same date, but the deal fell though.
