Zamalek coach Ihab Galal has rubbished claims that his team is unfit, as he expressed delight with how the White Knights are performing.

Galal said he is happy with the Whites’ performance in recent matches, saying his players are improving when it comes to understanding his tactics.

After their 2-1 win over Nasr on Thursday, Zamalek climbed to second place on the league table with 48 points, two ahead of Ismaily (who have two games in hand) whilst Al Ahly lead the table with 66 points.

"The team's fitness is stable and the evidence is that we win and deliver good performances," Galal said.

"I am satisfied with the performance against Nasr. We dominated the match and were the most effective against the goal.

"It is normal for the performance to change sometimes, but it should not diminish.

"The players deploy our strategy in a good way. There is good improvement in that regard.

"The team marches at a steady pace and the most important thing for me is winning matches. All I hope for is that Zamalek's performance will be completely secured in the coming period."
